  • DEPOSIT:

All bookings require a $100 deposit. It not only secures your spot but also contributes towards your tattoo.

Appointments come with a 15-minute grace period unless otherwise discussed. Please do not show up early, or late, and if you are running late please communicate with me about that.

Life is unpredictable, and I understand. With 72 hours' notice or in case of emergencies (hangovers and such don't count, sorry), appointments can be rescheduled. Especially in these times of COVID, your health is a priority – if either of us are feeling under the weather, let's prioritize well-being and stay healthy, and I will happily reschedule. Looking forward to collaborating with you!

  • LOCATION:

Find me in the LA area. Details to my private studio are on the LA Location page, accessible to you when the appointment is booked with a password I will give you.

Occasionally you can find me traveling. Some of my usual places you can find me passing through is SLC, Seattle, NYC .International travel I hope to get back to at some point.

Updates on such information can be found by subscribing to my newsletter that I work at sending out 2-3 times a month with updates on travels, locations and openings before I put it out to any other media.

  • BOOKING:

Please go the Contact Page where you will find all the information I need to help move the booking process along and keep me organized.

My books never close. I will get you in, now and later depending on schedule. Just ask. If it is too far out to book I will let you know when to check back in. At the same time sometimes I have time tomorrow, feel free to ask. I generally book appointments 4-5 days a week, with starting time available between Noon- 7pm. Earlier or later are occasionally possible for special circumstances.

  • PROCESS

My goal is to collaborate with you on what you want create, together. It cannot be done alone, and I love to see what we can create together. You are not a canvas, you are a person, and I look forward to working with you. Over the years I have worked in all sorts of ways, all sorts of subjects, and now I am lucky enough to be able to work within and develop a visual language of mine, with you. I am not here to please everyone, only those few that I am right for. If you are one of the ones on a similar page as myself, into exploring this process with me, I look forward to working with you to the best of my ability, and never less.

First step is to email me with all the info needed on my Contact page.

When you come in you will have sent in any reference already. I don’t discuss in detail what you want online, I find it is better in person. Email is just to get a rough idea of what you want to make sure that we can both make something work together and that we have enough time set aside.

When you are present we will spend all the time necessary to make the best work possible together, look at reference and draw it on directly until we are both happy with it. This is not a shortcut, but rather the best way for me to work. Sometimes it can take longer to get the drawing right, maybe we have to restart a time or two but the result is what I am after and drawing it on is how I find the best result.

Also to be clear, drawing time is not part of the price, it is just my process.

Then we will start to tattoo. The process can be scary, pens always look much more intense that the tattoo. It may also be scary if there is more than one session needed. Sometimes it is just line work when you leave and I choose to leave it loose and not waste time on making something perfect that is not needed to be. Also I work in black and grey exclusively these days. This is the way the majority of my work is done, save for the occasional work like portraits etc.

Please do not bring a crowd. This is a private studio, only one other person is allowed with you if you need company. Please bring any necessary snacks and water to sustain yourself and have eaten well before. Think of it like a marathon, you need energy to sustain.

Tattooing is an intimate process, especially so when we are doing it on a large scale and working to fit with the body. Also please be clean for your session with comfortable clothing that will enable you to be tattooed easily. I do not believe there is anything wrong with your body, or with you wanting to be comfortable. However you wish to be covered, please bring something that works, or ask me to use something for you if you so desire and we will sort something out. Towels and blankets are also helpful to bring to stay comfortable and warm enough during the process. Your comfort is of utmost concern to me as far as is reasonably possible during a process that can be a bit uncomfortable at times.

  • WHO AM I

I go by Talley. I’ve been involved in art in some way as long as I could be and started getting tattooed as soon as I could. In 2008 I started tattooing. I moved to Long Beach from Seattle in 2010 or so, have been traveling but based around LA ever since. Always tattooing and making art and striving to learn more. Around 2011 I opened a shop in East Hollywood. I decided I didn’t want to own a shop anymore and my old business partner kept it going. Since about 2015 I’ve been on my own so that I could focus on making art, traveling for work, and having the time and space to work on the larger projects.

When I am not in my studio these days, I may be on the road, and still occasionally get back in shops here and there around the globe to work with friends of mine. This is becoming more rare, as I very much like my studio space that I have created for myself and those that visit. When I do get out occasionally, you will for sure find me visiting Seattle, SLC, NYC, other places can happen but I no longer enjoy spending most of my time on the road. People seem to enjoy visiting me in LA and I hope you will too.

As Covid is a part of the world these days, be safe, wear a mask when needed, get tested. Hopefully vaccines help things get back to normal. If you or I are not feeling healthy at the time of the appointment or either of us are worried about exposure, please let me know and we will reschedule when we are sure that we are both clear. Deposits will float for that. I don’t want anyone getting sick.
